고분자 화학/고분자 물성과 시험법/ 첨가제

고분자 제품에는 여러 가지 첨가제 (additive)가 일반적으로 포함되어 있습니다.

첨가제를 넣는 이유:

(1) 제품을 만들 때의 가공성을 개선하고,

(2) 고분자의 기계적 물성, 표면 물성, 화학적 물성, 미학적 물성 등을 개량하고,

(3) 부피나 무게를 증가시키려 합니다.

첨가제의 종류:

첨가제는 그 기능에 따라서 다음과 같이 여러 가지가 있습니다:

(1) 노화 방지제 (antiaging agents ) -

열안정제 (heat stabilizers), 항산화제 (antioxidants), 자외선 방지제 (UV stabilizers)

(2) 윤활제 (lubricants)

(3) 염료 및 안료 (colorants)

(4) 방염제 (flame retardants)

(5) 발포제 (blowing agents)

(6) 가소제(plasticizers),

가소제 (Plasticizers)

가소제는 (1) 고분자를 고분자의 분해점 이하에서 가공할 수 있도록 해서 고분자의 가공성을 증가시키기 위해

사용되고 (2) 고분자의 유연성 (flexibility)을 증가시키기 위해 고분자에 첨가하는 물질입니다.

가소제는 고분자의 자유 부피를 증가시켜서 고분자의 분절 운동을 용이하게합니다.

가장 많이 알려진 가소제는 질산 셀루로오스에 사용한 장뇌 (camphor)입니다. 이것은 1868년경 I. Hyatt가

질산 셀루로오스를 가소화하기위해서 사용한 것이 처음입니다.

최근에는 가소제 사용이 줄기는 합니다만, 가소제가 가장 많이 사용되는 것은 PVC입니다. 가소제는 보통 300

정도의 분자량이 비교적 크고 끓는점이 높은 비휘발성 액체인 에스터 형이 가장 흔합니다.

가소제는 여러 형태로 분류할 수 있습니다. 원료의 종류에 따라서 분류할 수도 있고(표 2 참조), 일차, 이차

가소제 그리고 가소제 extender로 분류할 수도 있습니다.

가소제를 고를 때 고려해야 할 점:

1). 상용성(compatibility)

3). 가공성

4). 지속성
