Dr. Jaehun Chun

Dr. Jaehun Chun joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy in 2008. His research interests are on energetics and dynamics of structured fluids at nanometer length scales, especially focused on theoretical/computational frameworks to correlate these features to larger scale phenomena for energy and environmental applications. Of particular interest are self-assemblies of various nanoparticles, molecular forces, and physicochemical hydrodynamics. His previous and current work include dynamics of aerosols in rarefied gas flows under turbulence, electrostatic/electrodynamic forces on colloids, separation of nanoparticles, and rheology of colloidal slurries.

Dr. Chun received his Ph.D. degree from Chemical Engineering, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 2003 and M.S. from Chemical Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Taejon, Korea in 1993 and B.S. from Chemical Engineering, Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea in 1991.
