Associate Professor Jin Ryoun Kim

 

Associate professor Jin Ryoun Kim is a faculty member of the Department of

Chemical and Biological Engineering, Tandon School of Engineering, New York

University (NYU). He joined NYU in 2006.

 

He graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Seoul National

University in 1997 and received a PhD degree from the Department of 

Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004.

His research interests are: the creation of novel proteins for complex functionality such as the design of a protein sensor for detection of toxic molecules in neurodegenerative diseases and the development of a highly-stable enzyme that can be used in industry.

His work has been recognized as significant by prestigious scientific societies and magazines. He received many awards: New Investigator Award from the Alzheimer¡¯s Association (2009-2011), the Wechsler Award for Excellence (2009) and the Jacobs Excellence in Education Award (2013).
