Prof. Iwhan Cho(1936-2009) was a professor at KAIST over 30 years till 2001. He joined KAIST in 1972. He was a polymer chemist and engineer. He graduated Department of Chemical Engineering, Seoul National University in 1958 and got his Ph. D. degree from Brooklyn Poly (Current NYU-Poly) in 1967. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Univ. of Michigan (1966-1968) and  worked at Uniroyal between 1968-1972.  

He was born in Nonsan, Chungchung-namdo.

He received many awards and honors: 한국학술원상 (2000), 상암고분자상 (1996), 한국고분자학회, 공로상 (2004) - 한국고분자학회, 국민훈장 목련장 (1983), 과학기술훈장상 창조장 (2006).
