Prof. Taikyue Ree (1902-1992) was the first Korean chemist who got a doctoral degree from Kyoto Univ. in 1931 and served as a faculty member later at the same university.

 He became the first dean of the college of Liberal Art and Science, SNU and 1^st President of Korean Chemical Society (KCS). He visited Utah University before Korean War and worked with Prof. Henry Eyring (1901-1981). He developed Ree-Eyring fluid model for flow. He influenced and inspired many Korean chemists and young students. He also assisted many Korean chemists’ research works at Utah.
