Dr. Chwa Kyung Sung (1920-1986)


 

  Dr. Chwa Kyung Sung(1920-1986) was born in Yangpyung, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea in 1920. He graduated Department of Chemical Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1942 and got Ph. D. degree from Seoul National University in 1964. He served as vice president of Science Research Institute, Ministry of National Defense of S. Korea (1953-1960), professor at Hanyang University (1963-1966), president of KAERI (1966-1967), director of Nuclear Energy Agency of S. Korea (1967-1968), president of Inha University (1972-1976), president of Korean Research Institute of Chemical Technology (1976) and minister of Science and Technology in 1979. He served in several scientific societies: He served as the 5th president of Korean Institute of Chemical Engineers (1967), 14th president of Korean Chemical Society (1973-1974), and 1st president of Polymer Society of Korea in 1976. He contributed in variety of fields, too.

 

  He published  more than 40 papers and wrote several books on organic and polymer chemistry.

 

1960³â ³ìÁ¶±ÙÁ¤ÈÆÀå, 1970³â ±¹¹ÎÈÆÀ嵿¹éÀå, 1971³â ´ëÇÑÈ­ÇÐȸ Çмú»ó, 1975³â °úÇбâ¼ú»ó·Ã»Á¶±ÙÁ¤ÈÆÀåÀ» ¹Þ¾Ò´Ù.
